When used to replace the magnetic ballasted fluorescent lamps, the CFL will save the children's eyes. The normal fluorescent lamps driven by magnetic ballast and starter switches on and off at the rate of 100 times per second, and this affects eyes of young children. The CFL lamp switches at the rate of about 25,000 cycles per second, far above the sensitivity of human eyes, hence is harmless.
Saves about 80% more energy compared to incandescent light bulbs. And because of the long life, we save money too.
